Sony Sells More Than 10 Million PlayStation 4 Consoles

Sony said that global sales of its newest PlayStation have surged past the 10 million mark in less than a year, a record for the Japanese electronics giant.

The PlayStation 4 console, released in November, has been a bright spot for the struggling firm, which launched a sweeping restructuring in a bid to claw its way back to profitability.

The release of the PS4 in the United States and other markets has helped to improve Sony's fortunes after a disappointing response to the console's predecessor, the PS3.

Candy Crush Decline, Weak Q2 Figures Force King to Lower 2014 Forecast

Social and mobile game company King Digital Entertainment Plc reduced its 2014 forecast after reporting lower-than-expected second-quarter revenue , as gamers continued to spend less money on its "Candy Crush Saga" game.

King also announced a $150 million special dividend, or 46.9 cents per share, payable to shareholders of record on Sept. 30. Its shares, however, slipped 22 percent in after-hours trading after closing at $18.20 on the New York Stock Exchange.

Intel buys software for sports

There were more signs that the fashion bag maker Intel is pressing ahead with its internet of fangs project. 

According to Reuters, Intel has written a cheque to a New Zealand company producing software for use in sports and exercise sectors. 

The investment comes from Chipzilla's investment arm, Intel Capital, which has bought into the privately owned Performance Lab. 

The Kiwi firm writes software for real-time exercise management and virtual coaching. It fits in nicely to Intel's plans to stick its chips into sports clothing and other exercise gear.

AMD Radeon HD 7990 : Powerful but expensive graphics card

JD.com to Sell Microsoft's Xbox One in China

JD.com Inc, China's second-biggest e-commerce company by market share, will accept pre-orders for Microsoft Corp's Xbox One games console in China.

The pre-orders will be taken via Tencent Holdings' mobile social networks Mobile QQ and WeChat, known as Weixin in China, JD.com said in a statement. Tencent holds a 17.6 percent stake in JD.com.

Samsung VR Headset Companion App Leaked; Tips Modular Design

Samsung's partnership with Oculus VR to bring out its mobile VR platform for smartphones, report claims to have access to an early version of the smartphone companion app for the VR platform, called Samsung Gear VR Manager.

The first report of Samsung working on a virtual reality headset had come back in May, with Oculus once again rumoured to be helping develop the software for the South Korean giant.
