HP on Tuesday has introduced a Windows 8.1-based gaming laptop, dubbed HP Omen, at a starting price of $1,499 (approximately Rs. 91,900).

"Gamers play to win and expect their PCs to do the same," said Mike Nash, Vice President, Product Management, Consumer Personal Systems, HP, in a statement, adding, "The HP Omen delivers the power to dominate with a stunning design to give gamers the ultimate gaming experience."

Nintendo Posts First-Half Net Profit of $132 Million

Japanese videogame giant Nintendo said Wednesday its first-half net profit soared to $132 million (roughly Rs. 810 crores) as a sharply weaker yen boosted its bottom line and offset slowing sales.

The Kyoto-based company earned JPY 14.3 billion between April and September, way up from JPY 600 million in the same period a year ago, despite sales falling 12.8 percent to JPY 171.4 billion on lacklustre demand for its 3DS games system.

New Mexico City Plans to Auction Excavated Rare Video Games

A city in New Mexico where 1,300 unwanted vintage video games were discovered buried in a landfill has voted to auction off more than half of the cartridges in the run-up to Christmas.

Members of the Alamogordo City Council voted 7-0 late on Tuesday to offer some 800 of the Atari games found earlier this year for sale on eBay and the council's own website.

The mystery behind who dumped the games in the landfill, and why, inspired the dig and a documentary film by Microsoft Corp's Xbox Entertainment Studios.

Asus ZenWatch hands on Review

The Asus ZenWatch is a stylish Android Wear device with a customisable clock face and an average price tag. It's not the smartwatch that everyone has been waiting for, though.

Candy Crush Decline, Weak Q2 Figures Force King to Lower 2014 Forecast

Social and mobile game company King Digital Entertainment Plc reduced its 2014 forecast after reporting lower-than-expected second-quarter revenue , as gamers continued to spend less money on its "Candy Crush Saga" game.

King also announced a $150 million special dividend, or 46.9 cents per share, payable to shareholders of record on Sept. 30. Its shares, however, slipped 22 percent in after-hours trading after closing at $18.20 on the New York Stock Exchange.

Intel buys software for sports

There were more signs that the fashion bag maker Intel is pressing ahead with its internet of fangs project. 

According to Reuters, Intel has written a cheque to a New Zealand company producing software for use in sports and exercise sectors. 

The investment comes from Chipzilla's investment arm, Intel Capital, which has bought into the privately owned Performance Lab. 

The Kiwi firm writes software for real-time exercise management and virtual coaching. It fits in nicely to Intel's plans to stick its chips into sports clothing and other exercise gear.

NVidia GeForce GTX 770 review: well priced graphics card with good performance
